Under The Whether!

Here we go again! It finally got the better of me, and am spending a couple of days down with me friends lemon water, Halls and Tissues. Hope it will be speedy, as I have too many things to be doing.
Being Memorial Day, I have spent the day sacked out on the couch watching WWII movies. What a price they payed for the American dream.

What's Going On With Me???

We finally got our new phone system put in yesterday with Time Warner. I will be getting our voice mail set up sometime today. It will be great just getting our calls in a timely manner.
Friday we took mother to the San Diego Zoo. She wanted to see the new Polar Bear exhibit. We walked the whole way to the back of the park to see the polar bears, and they were kind enough to get into the water for us. We took the sky tram down, and walked some more. We took in a sea lion show, had dinner in Little Italy and drove home. It was a very full day, and I think she outwalked me. Where's the pictures, you say? Yes, I took my camera, but somehow never snapped one shot. I don't know why; I just didn't. Bummer!

An Improvement!

While this phone was fun when working, it wasn't dependable. It was great seeing the grandchildren on it, but it wasn't fun getting calls dropped, receiving messages 3-4 days late, and sometimes not getting calls at all. As of the 22nd of the month we are switching over to a different carrier, and will hopefully be able to receive calls and messages from those of you who may have had problems reaching us in the past. I can hardly wait.

I've Been Busy!

I've been sewing up a storm lately with my new toy. I will have to get back to my blog. A friend called the other day and wanted to know if I was OK. She hasn't seen me on my blog or fb and thought something must have happened. I assured her that I was just fine, and that I've just been totally absorbed in making a new wardrobe.

Mother's Day was wonderful. My mother will be 95 this year, but she is still quite active. She has started swimming laps with us at 5:00 a.m. three times a week and continues with the tai chi class. She's amazing!

A New Toy

I guess I'm delinquent again. I've been busy shopping for, purchasing and playing with my new toy. I've gotten the itch to sew clothes again, but the motor in my old serger was freezing up making the machine worthless. I now have a beautiful new Baby Lock serger, and I am loving it. I have drawers full of fabric that I can now get something done with now. I've already have made two garments and have three more cut out.

First Bloom of Spring

Not to copy you, Cindy, but yesterday on the way to the mailbox I spied my first bloom on my rose bush by the front porch. The first blooms are always so perfect. Later, when it's so bloomin' hot, the blooms don't look quite as fresh somehow. I just want to bury my nose in it and breathe in the sweet fragrance.
